Solo-Dev and Small Team-oriented Independent games publisher

Guiding Indies from passion to profit.

Most indie games are better off without a publisher, unless the publisher acts as a genuine partner. Proteus is built by industry vets and indie developers to offer a "Self-Publishing+" model rooted in market experience and transparency: expert support that eliminates mistakes, reduces your workload, and drives long-tail commercial success without taking over your vision. Our terms are fair and simple, our rev-share is as low as 25% and our contract is publicly available for anyone to review. We don't recoup our costs - we participate in your risk too, not just the profit.

We look for

The time of AAA-tier game supremacy is over. Everything we know about the market tells us that the next big thing is going to be a small thing. We're looking for originality, passion, and determination to make your game a source of income, not just a hobby.

We offer

You're getting a market-experienced, steady and dedicated partner, the "Self-Publishing+" model: 25% publisher rev share, 100% revenue runway, deep QA & UX design feedback, flawless in-house automated localization, and targeted cross-promo deals.

About us

About Proteus Interactive

Who we are

Proteus Interactive is an indie publishing label built by former indie developers. Having walked in your shoes, we reached a straightforward conclusion: indie games are often better off self-publishing, unless the publisher operates as a true equal partner in tandem with the developer.

What we do

We provide a "Self-Publishing+" model. We deliver comprehensive QA and design feedback to maximize onboarding and maintain "Very Positive" launch reviews. We handle automated context-sensitive localization, execute high-converting Steam cross-promo bundles, and optimize organic Steam mechanisms that generate 90-95% of lifetime traffic.

How we work

We focus on generating real commercial effects rather than budget bloat. We do not recoup costs from your revenue split, taking on publishing risk directly alongside you. Our feedback is structured to complement your dev cycle, and our post-launch review digests filter out market noise so you can focus on high-priority fixes.

The team

Founded by veteran indie developers with years of hands-on market experience, our team brings deep expertise in game design, storefront optimization, community management, and technical QA.

Developer-First Revenue Share

Our revenue cut is fixed at 25%. Before any revenue split occurs, we provide a 100% revenue runway period: developers retain all Steam-generated revenue until reaching a sales threshold based on wishlist count at deal signing (1,000 copies for <5,000 wishlists; +1,000 copies per additional 5,000 wishlists).

Shared Risk & Zero Cost Recoupment

We do not recoup marketing or publishing expenses from your revenue share. Where traditional publishers see risk, we see an opportunity to forge a lasting partnership based on mutual trust.
